During Black History Month, the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD) commemorates and pays tribute to the accomplishments and rich history of both Black Americans and Black Americans with Disabilities.
This month serves as a moment to envision the potential opportunities that lie ahead. It’s an occasion to acknowledge the remarkable contributions of Black Americans, evident in every facet of our communities. Sara Clarke Kaplan, the executive director of the Antiracist Research & Policy Center at American University in Washington, D.C., aptly states, “There is no American history without African American history.”
NACDD remains dedicated to supporting communities across states and territories, striving to ensure equity and inclusion for all individuals with disabilities.
